Remixing Resilience
From growing up as a 1st generation Haitian-American in a single-parent household with 9 siblings; to being expelled at 8 years old; to losing his father at 13; to being diagnosed as temporarily handicapped at age 27; the limitations Kemy’s faced taught him a about being resilient and kind when facing harsh adversities.
He used those lessons to earn $400,000+ in college scholarships to complete two masters degrees by age 26. He then led a 22,000 mile Kindness Scooter Tour across North America while running a nonprofit that helped 25,000+ youth to increase kindness in their schools.
In this interactive presentation, Kemy J shares resilience lessons from those difficult life circumstances to help students turn their pain into power as well. To use their limitations as invitations for reframing their stories. Their obstacles as opportunities to improve well-being. Their negative emotions as fuel for forgiveness.

Empathetic Citizens
Over the past two decades, Kemy has served in several leadership roles in organizations small and large, including working with multiple Nobel Peace Laureates to inspire social change initiatives around the world. In 2012, he even led a 22,000 mile Kindness Tour across North America, which taught him the power of human connection to overcome our divisions.
In a time where people feel so disconnected and unsafe, he’s able to create brave spaces where people have real conversations that build trust, foster belonging, and create new sustainable solutions. He also uses a combination of music, stories, and group exercises to create a highly engaging, uplifting experience.
During this interactive presentation, Kemy will share an inspirational message on how we can use our thoughts, emotions, and actions to support one another as Empathetic Citizens.
