‘Patiently’ is all about embracing the space between relationships as a valuable time to nurture self-love. This song is a heartfelt reminder to everyone—and to myself—that we are all worthy of the love we desire. However, the secret to manifesting that love is loving ourselves first.

In 2019, after my divorce, I faced a crossroad in how I approached relationships. I realized my pursuit of a partner was driven by a fear of loneliness rather than an appreciation of my worth and the love I have to offer. As I studied self-love, I stumbled across a quote that changed my perspective on love: “Be the first example of what it means to love you” - unknown. I wrote that quote on my front door and did my best to live by it. For about two years, I took myself on dates, learned to get more comfortable in moments of solitude, and repeatedly told myself that my ideal partner is on her way. I knew that when our paths aligned we'd both be so glad that I waited. 😊

'Patiently' became my anthem during this period of self-growth. A musical hug every time I needed it. Writing this song was about flipping the scripts on F.O.M.O. to mean “Focus On My Opportunities”—a mantra that encouraged me to be present, grateful, and resilient. It helped me shift from the fear of missing out to appreciating the blessings right in front of me. That mindset enabled me to build a healthier relationship with myself and eventually manifest a beautiful relationship with my sweetie Mariah. 💞

For anyone out there waiting for love, I hope ‘Patiently’ is an affirmation that you are worth the wait and that loving yourself is the best thing you can do right now.
